Research

AgeOfSpace's research system is very easy to understand. First, you must build a Research Lab. Once done, you will be able to see the list of technologies available, although for the moment, most will appear colored in gray: that is because you do not meet the requirements to obtain the technology in question. Most technologies require that, prior to being investigated, the research laboratory be raised to a certain level, or that other technology be investigated several times. By accessing the Technology Tree you can see the requirements for each technology in detail. This system ensures that each technology is obtained in a staggered and orderly way, avoiding that at the beginning of your walk for the Game, you are saturated by an excess of information and possibilities.

If you have decided to get a technology, all you have to do is accumulate the amount of resources needed for it, you will see that it is no longer gray and appears available. Keep in mind that each technology needs a specific amount of titanium / graphene / deuterium; If you do not have these quantities on your planet, the investigation will not be available and you will not be able to carry out the process. If you want to have your first ship as soon as possible, the first technology you should get is the Combustion Engine. As in the case of constructions, the investigations also require a certain time to finish and can be canceled if they have not been completed, returning the resources that have been invested in it.

Besides the cost, the duration of an investigation is also an important actor to take into account since you must always keep in mind that you can only investigate a technology every time. This duration depends on the cost of the same (the most expensive technologies take longer to complete) and the level to which you have developed your Research Laboratory (the higher level, the faster you can get the technologies).

From the research tree (TechTree) you can see the requirements of each element of the game, it is highly recommended to visit it to plan a future strategy.

So, of course, your evolution in the game depends to a large extent on how developed you have your Lab. It is important to keep in mind that, while you are researching something in your Lab, you will not be able to upload it to the level, and as you level up the Lab, you will not be able to improve any technology on it. In addition, in the initial phases of your AgeOfSpace visit, having several Research Labs built in different colonies is not useful since you can only investigate one of them (the one you select in each case) and, for the moment, the Having several laboratories does not affect the duration of a particular research.

Spy Technology

You will need this research to build Espionage Probes with which to spy on the planets and moons of other players. The more level we have this research will increase the information you can get from those planets. In addition, to be able to see the enemy fleets that attack us, we will need to increase this technology, the more level you will get.

Computer Technology

With each new level of this research, you can send an additional fleet. In addition, when you reach level 10, you can build the Nanobots Factory.

Weapons Technology

With each level of this investigation, the weapons of your ships and defensive structures cause 10% more damage.

Shield Technology

This technology generates a shield 10% more powerful with each level, so your ships and defenses can absorb more impacts and receive less damage.

Armour Technology

It reinforces the structural integrity of all ships and defensive constructions by 10% with each level rise, making it possible for them to be able to withstand more shots.

Energy Technology

In a first stage it will only serve to unlock other investigations. Later it will be important for the operation of the Fusion Plant, since the energy production of this construction depends directly on the level to which you have developed this technology.

Hyperspace Technology

This is an important technology as it is one of the requirements to be able to develop the Intergalactic Research Network and the Hyperspace Propeller.

Combustion Engine

Light Hunters, Spy Probes, Recyclers, Small Cargo Ships (until you get the 5th level of the Impulse Engine) and Large Cargo Ships fly using this engine. Each level of this research increases the speed of these ships by 10%.

Impulse Engine

This research concerns Heavy Hunters, Colony Ships, Cruise Ships, Bombers (until you get the Hyperspace Propellant at level 8) and also to the Interplanetary Missiles (in other chapters will go deeper into this topic). Each of these ships is increased by 20% its speed with each new level of this Motor. From Level 5, the Small Cargo Ship begins to use the Impulse Engine.

Hyperspace Engine

This technology will allow you to send Expedition missions and increase the number of Colonies of your Empire. For every 2 levels you increase it you can colonize one more planet and for each level send one more expedition

This research increases the production of your mines by 10%

Graviton Research

This technology allows to build the most powerful ships of AgeOfSpace, in addition in the universes with the conquest mode we need it to conquer other planets. For the graviton we will need a huge amount of energy, which can only be achieved with solar satellites, so we must plan a good tactic because we will be objective of other players for the tremendous amount of satellites needed.
